HEALING FOODS FOR AUTUMN

As the temperature gets cooler in autumn, Nature has a way of providing healing foods that are denser with nutrients, sugar and starches. These foods are energy rich and provide “fuel” for your body to keep warm during the cold.

Here are some of the foods that you can include in your daily diet for the cold months ahead. They are “grounding” foods that have a warm energy effect.

List of common warm energy foods:
Apples, asparagus, basil, berries, chilli peppers, chives, cinnamon, cloves, coriander, fennel, garlic, ginger, ginseng, jalapeño, leek, longan, lychee, mango, mushrooms, mustard, nuts and seeds, onion, peach, pears, scallions, root vegetables (beetroot, potatoes, sweet potatoes, yam) squashes and gourds, whole grains, beans and legumes.

Warm energy foods are generally easier to digest and help improve blood circulation.
